Did someone faint? Yeah Right....Gimme a Break...

Yup...the title says it all...
Suddenly our dear Principal Ma'am gets an idea to reduce the number of breaks in school. She places the Long Break ( or should I say ONLY ) after the 5th period not realising the consequences. She has to realise that there are many small children who are used to the usual 2 Break Schedule and it's difficult to adapt to the 1 Break schedule and not eat anything from 8 am till 12am?
By just keeping the new break to 30 minutes doesn't solve the problem. If it does, then why dont we have a regular school for 24 hrs ( 4 days equivalent) and have the next three days as free??? Why can't we apply the same logic here?

Anyway, in the midst of a Prefectorial Council Meeting one student fainted, and soon after the FAINT-TOLL kept increasing till it reached around 12.
Though I had a very interesting conversation with someone's mother when I told her to come to school ( she was happy with the fact that her daughter had fainted ) I will not mention it here, so all those who are curious...can ask me in person.

The point is, that at least by looking at the FAINT-TOLL, the principal should have reverted back to the old system. And she did change the system...but not back to normal. Here's an excerpt from what she announced in the intercom
(P.S: these dialogues are not word to word but they convey what the Principal Meant)
Principal:"Since a number of students have collapsed due to the break....blah blah blah...we shall now have the break after the 4th period. And since, we have a half-day in school tomorrow...no wait...it's the 4th saturday..."

As if by shifting the break by one period is going to solve the problem. Probably the fainting will start probably around 8th period with this new setup.

We all wonder why Ma'am got this new system implemented. Our guess is because from the Principal's Perception..."lesser the breaks...lesser the chaos/trouble/mess caused by the students".

Perhaps you are right Ma'am. But which would you prefer?
"Chaos and Mess" or "Students Fainting"?

  • Dear Anonymous,
The whole intention of the blog is to express a students point of view about the school, and not commenting on people.

Of course there are instances where we may fail to understand what really happens, that's why the content of each post is taken from the information that is seen/known by the student.

Lowering of rep. is just your way of looking at it.
