NCS...From a Satellite

Yes...quite literally...Google Earth recently updated Mumbai...and it's got quite some detail in now.
We can actually see where Vikrant and Viraat are and NOFRA is exposed as well.
I got a glimpse of our school and here's how it looks from a satellite.

I've even got a few pictures on NOFRA etc. but you will have to visit my blog for that.

Lost a Pen? Report it to the Principal

When there is a Computer Lab to be perfected, how can our Principal even give time to announce on the intercom about the loss of a pen? Even more surprising...the one who complained about the loss of his pen was a 11th standard student.
It even went to that extent when the Principal told us over the intercom that the pen was last seen near the Canteen and if found...should be returned to her.
So what if it was a Parker Pen? Loss of a Pen is such a small issue...everybody loses one in school...and what about our Computer Lab?
I agree that the "PEN" is mightier than the sword but if that's the reason why the pen got priority then I'm speechless.
Our Labs dont have the necessary software, and whom does she blame? The students and the Teacher. What about the Engineers? It's their job to keep such things in check...and even if something goes wrong, they are to be held responsible...it's their job. Why are we even paying them?
CompTel Systems....God knows why our school chose this company to get things done.

Even after all this nonsense and confusion...one thing is for sure.
If you lose your Pen next time...don't bother...our Principal is there to help you find that pen.
If you lose your Project in the Computer Lab PC..."IN GOD WE TRUST"

Did someone faint? Yeah Right....Gimme a Break...

Yup...the title says it all...
Suddenly our dear Principal Ma'am gets an idea to reduce the number of breaks in school. She places the Long Break ( or should I say ONLY ) after the 5th period not realising the consequences. She has to realise that there are many small children who are used to the usual 2 Break Schedule and it's difficult to adapt to the 1 Break schedule and not eat anything from 8 am till 12am?
By just keeping the new break to 30 minutes doesn't solve the problem. If it does, then why dont we have a regular school for 24 hrs ( 4 days equivalent) and have the next three days as free??? Why can't we apply the same logic here?

Anyway, in the midst of a Prefectorial Council Meeting one student fainted, and soon after the FAINT-TOLL kept increasing till it reached around 12.
Though I had a very interesting conversation with someone's mother when I told her to come to school ( she was happy with the fact that her daughter had fainted ) I will not mention it here, so all those who are curious...can ask me in person.

The point is, that at least by looking at the FAINT-TOLL, the principal should have reverted back to the old system. And she did change the system...but not back to normal. Here's an excerpt from what she announced in the intercom
(P.S: these dialogues are not word to word but they convey what the Principal Meant)
Principal:"Since a number of students have collapsed due to the break....blah blah blah...we shall now have the break after the 4th period. And since, we have a half-day in school tomorrow...no wait...it's the 4th saturday..."

As if by shifting the break by one period is going to solve the problem. Probably the fainting will start probably around 8th period with this new setup.

We all wonder why Ma'am got this new system implemented. Our guess is because from the Principal's Perception..."lesser the breaks...lesser the chaos/trouble/mess caused by the students".

Perhaps you are right Ma'am. But which would you prefer?
"Chaos and Mess" or "Students Fainting"?

PICNIC 2005......Our Last Ever....DOn't tell me you ruined It for Youself!!

Beg all your pardons.I know this post is a bit overdue.Nevertheless, after my official Report of the PICNIC to the Chairman (which was too mushy and sweet-sweet), what follows is my rememberance of what actually passed on September 19, 2005......

I was at school at 6.00 am.Some people had already arrived.Others slow gathered as the dark sky turned into a birght morning.Radha Ma'am, Giriji Ma'am, Lakshmi Ma'am and eventually Principal arrived.Yet no signs of the Buses. It turned out that the buses (take note of PLURAL usage) had been stopped at the SUMITRA gate. After more time wastage, one BUS and one QUALIS appeared. We waited longer for another bus......in vain.We left at 7.15 am....cramped in ONE BUS!!!!

Somehow, we dragged upto some distance where again we stopped as another QUALIS had been arranged.Another 8 students left the bus and now each vehicle had a teacher in it: Radha Ma'am with us in the Bus, Girija Ma'am and Lakshmi Ma'am in each QUALIS.

Time dragged slowly and the streets of Mumbai gave way to beautfiil hills. It was raining closer to ALibaug. And I don't know how many of you bothered to look out....but the weather and views were breath-taking.However, it turned out that we had taken a wrong turn.....NOT ONCE but twice. What with rain, wrong routes and traffic the stipulated 3 hour journey went on to become a 6 hour ordeal for most.

But I FEEL I MUST I ADD at this juncture that the loudest and most blaring of complaints from EVERYONE i'm hearing is the length of the bus journey....I object and I disagree.Even we were travelling........but we made do.We managed to enjoy. We sang at the top of our throats, played, yelled and did loads of masti-dhamaal.We even made do with the seating problem; sometimes sitting 4 on a seat, accomodating on each others laps, climbing onto seats.I hope those of you who have managed to file out long lists of what went wrong should be given a lesson in optimism. It was OUR LAST SCHOOL PICNIC.And if you wasted it away in cribbing and cringing....I pity you.You should have all made the best of what was available and enjoyed to yiur heart's content.Luxury and Leisure will come again and again....but not a picnic with school friends. For those of us who had a great time, it was a memorable day.......for those of you who sat there counting the minutes pass by......JUST TOO BAD...You spoiled your best chance of enjoying with all your school friends.Learn from this...Life is not a 5-star restaurant where you are served what you order....itz a roadside DHABAA where even if you order normal food there'll be excess of spice and too much of butter.....ENJOY IT !!!!

Moving on, we reached a small place called Kernal for delicious Poha (it was seriously tasty...take that from a POHA-UPMA-HATER!).Around the smae place we were shown a few small scale soap-production, oil-extraction, carpentry and potttery units. The pottery was beautiful and some of us even bought a few artefacts.

In another hour, we reached ALibaug beach.Clicked photos, waited even longer and finally reached Lunch-spot.Food was yum.SPicy yet filling.Ate to my heart's content, climbed onto the bus, wiated even longerrrrrrrrrr ......and then started for Kihim beach.

AT Kihim Beach (beautiful snady, wide-open beach) peopel played football, clicked photos, relished coconut-milk, collected shells and then it started pouring again.

At 4.30 we left for mumbai.Somewhere 51 kms form Mumbai we stopped for a high-tea that never appeared. So eventually we reached back school at 9.15 (more fun on the journey back).Thanked the teachers and organisers and came home.I'd like to give you all some inside-info.The main fellow incharge, who was in a white-shirt and blue-jeans, is an inspiration. He is a war-affected soldier who left the army with nothing in life.....and today he has made a name for himself. If not from anything else, I hope we all learn from his example.

More pics will be ocming in soon.So keep checking back.

Whatever anyone MIGHT say.......i dont care.......I enjoyed it.....and if you didn't ....MY SYMPATHIES :)

I repeat, Life doesn't always take the route you wnat it to......maybe it'll take a wrong road once......Maybe even twice.......Enjoy the ride..Itz bound to be fun - You wanna know Why?? Cause the DRIVER is simply great....you can't beat HIM :)

Sanchit's Take on Class 12 Picnic

Finally, Class 12 gets a picnic...after constant reminders by the Head Boy to the Principal and by students to the head-boy. [ Truly a three-tier system indeed. ]
So the place was Alibag or Alibaug as the hoardings out there suggested, and reaching the destination was a major task in itself, as we shall find out below.
Most of us arrived outside School at 6am sharp while the rest made it by 6:30. By the time all the formalities were complete, it was around 7am. There was a little bit confusion about the Bus and since Tejas knows more on this issue, I leave it to him to report the matter.
So then started the "Bus-Journey". We reached Jija-Mata Udyaan at 8:05 am and had a very short halt there for some reason and started off again. The Best part of the initial bus journey was that since everyone was so excited ( as shown below )...

...noone realised that the bus was headed in the wrong direction. A few of us weren't that keen on playing Antaakshiri and we owe our survival to our MP3 Players. I really cursed those who just went on and on and on with the songs...but in a wierd way...it was indeed fun.

At around 11:30 we reached a so-called "half-way Point" or "Breakfast Halt". It's path was like this:

After having a really delicious breakfast ( pohas and tea...ok i didnt like the tea...pohas AWSM ) I went exploring with Yash and Aseem and gave it up on being growled at by 3 dogs. Then we divided ourselves into groups and saw the small pottery industry which included a live demonstration.

That done, our bus journey continues and I lost count of how many wrong turns we took, and neither do I want to ask Radha Ma'am about it as she seemed tensed about it too. Don't worry Ma'am...It's not your fault...we blame SAAD TRANSPORT...

Though I really felt that the name should have been...

Then at 1:15 pm we reached the so-called Resort...which turned out to be a restaurant ( was that the magic in the show??? ) which had a great lunch too.
After having hogged, we got back in the bus, tried to get a siesta inspite of the Antakshiri in the background and somehow managed to get a snooze...
We then made it to a beach, where we spent around 20 minutes.

And then we made a return journey at 5pm and stopped somewhere in Panvel for High-Tea. In the end it turned out to be a 12 Hour Picnic in the Bus itself.
I'm sorry to have omitted certain areas/details and spots and I hope Tejas can throw some light on that.
Anyway, here are some excerpts during the Bus Journey.

What I wanted to tell the Teachers who came with us that we had fun though we expected something else. No matter how horrible things go, as long as we're with our friends, we'll always have a ball. So please dont feel Guilty...we understand that it's not your fault at all...esp. to Radha Ma'am...

....who always maintained a smile on her face inspite of all the obstacles we faced in our picnic.
Nothing more to pen about due to time constraints.
I hope I've covered the prominent parts of the Picnic.

AND BTW....Please Leave CLEAN Comments...

P.S : What we weren't pleased with, is that we requested the Principal to permit Meenakshi Ma'am and Vidya Ma'am to come for our picnic, as it was our last year in school, but she flatly refused as she wanted only class teachers to attend.
It would have been much more fun with all our teachers...

100 Posts!!! 2000+ Visits!!!

Hey everyone,
100 Posts may mean nothing to you all, but to me it's all about taking the time and effort to write 'em and keep you all glued to the blog...if not entertained.
Basically my job here is to just bring in the Fun Stuff, Counters,Pictures,Rumours etc. I used to do some serious writing too until I realised Tejas is more apt for this sort of thing. Thanks Tejas for STILL being a blog member, and a regular contributor.
And lastly how can I forget the Blog's regular visitors. Thanks to all of them and their witty comments. We have already touched 2000+ Hits.

A few days back when the Picnic was planned for Class 12, we reported that immediately. However, contrary to our expectations we had a totally "unique" picnic. Our expections had gone for a spin...and so did we..(Fun Pun huh?)
I know Tejas is desperately waiting to get time to write his view on the picnic, and so am I.
So i guess, there will be two takes on this picnic, all coming up very very soon.

Since everyone else had camera's, i wont be posting all the group photographs, but only the funny one's and pictures relevent to the journey.(why didn't I say Picnic here...)
I've got a good share of pictures, and on some cam's my photography expertise can be easily seen. [ U must think that I'm boasting...but wait till you see 'em all ]

So please take some patience pills and get ready for the Picnic Posts by Tejas and I.
What Can be a better Way to start Posts after completing 100 of them...

EDIT by Tejas: Yup People...........We did it!!!! A 100 posts and 200+ visitors. And how do we celebrate our success???? By presenting to you......a NEW MEMBER OF THE SCHOOL BLOG.Who is it? Honestly, even I dont know.Mr. Anonymouus will start posting soon......so letz just sit back and watch the specatacle unfold. Thanks again to Sanchit and allllllll you guys....My post on picnic will take time. But do keep checking back!!!!

Is this a Debate?

The NCS Debating Team has been selected to represent the school for the inter-school debating competition at the Army School on Wednesday.
As of what I know so far, is that the team, comprising of 3 members are to report at the Army School Auditorium at 8am on 21st.

There were so many candidates for the auditions. For some reason though, I felt that the "everyone should participate" factor was given more importance than the "best speaker" factor.
What i mean to say is that, it's an inter-school competition, we need to send the best out there to compete, not the juniors.
They have 3 more years in school while those in 12th have barely 3 months left.
Besides the rules are funny. One speaker from the Team speaks for the topic while the other speaks against..(wierd but true)...the other member simply interjects and questions the other team on their speech.
What is this? This definitely isn't a debate. No comments from my side...And yes....the topic is:"MEDIA DOES MORE HARM THAN GOOD"....and we are going to speak FOR and against the topic...(wierd again...but true)

I still feel that I'm missing out on something...umm....oh yes....the Team.
1st Speaker : Arati Nair
2nd Speaker : Vipul
Interjector : Sanchit
Backup : Baldeep

Post your views as comments to this post.

Viji Ma'am leaves for Vizag tomorrow.I don't think much is needed to be said or written after the Farewell party on Friday. My thanks to allllllll the people who helped out with the programme. The skit was a hit.And so was Pratik's violin-instrumental.All other items and speeches were great....and I'm being held responsible for ending thep rogramme with my tearful speech.I'll be posting Viji Ma'am's email ID once I get it, so we can all keep in touch.

Today was PTA and also the day to submit forms for the PICNIC.And since Principal held Shalini and me back till ONE IN THE AFTERNOON.....I know eaxactly how many people and who all are coming form which class. In all......ITZ JUST 63 STUDENTS from a population of 110.

FOr those not coming, I'm sorry for all of you....there maybe any reaosn why you couldn't come and I understand....but I'd hoped everyone would turn up!

Most probably Radha Ma'am and Girija Ma'am will be accompanying us(Laxmi Ma'am may not be able to make it....do I hear cheers????).

For those of you who ARE coming.i.e. 25 from XII A, 27 from XII B and 11 from XII C,
reporting time is 0600 hours, which means we LEAVE at this time.....so you HAVE to be in school by this time!!!!

It takes around 2.5 hours by road to reach Alibaug....and since we are few in number, we may all be in one huge bus....or at the most, two buses. So make sure you catch good seats, with your friends, get Mp3 players, walkmans, iPods and whatever you think will add to the "dhamaal-journey".

Dont forget to come in SCHOOL UNIFORM (yaaaaaaaawwwwwwnnnnn!!!).Principal has asked teachers to make sure that we don't enter the water at the beach....but then, do you think she's gonna come and check what all we actually did??!!??Letz break free...TOTALLY...and have a blast.Letz make it a great day!!!!

Mr/Ms......WHOEVER YOU ARE

Well, this is not a reprimand , a threatening or a scolding.Itz an invitation......read on:

Over the 6 months that this blog has spanned its work, I've been a member since the first week. And all through my posts, I've continually noticed the presence of a certain someone who repulses my articles. My most ruthless critic.Maybe it is more than one person.I dont know. But I'm sure those of you who have scrolled through the "comments" all these months would agree that his/her/their presence is very prominent.

I have no problems with critcism or cynicism.Actually, I think I've learnt more from that one ANONYMOUS person's comments than I ever would have from the usually saccharine and goody-good comments. My thanks to ANONYMOUS for all the time and effort.

Now last week, Sanchit re-started recruitment for the School blog team. And I think the only person who truly deserves to be on our side is Mr.Anti-Tejas.He/She writes well, observes well and thinks smartly.I openly invite you post on our blog.....you may choose to remain Anonymous. As long as your passion drives your work and not your personal feelings, YOU ARE WELCOME.

I don't expect to see fake ppl charading as him/her......guyz, if you also want to be a part, just mail Sanchit. He'll decide.Dont pretend to be someone you aren't...EVER in your life!

SEPTEMBER 14 2005: Destination Alibaug

Phewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!

I'm so glad that finally after me incessantly bugging and irritating the Principal about our impending Picnic....she finally picked up her phone today and called the organisers in front of me.She asked if we would come on 14th at 6.00 am.....I said "Ma'am.....Any date....we'll come at 4.00 am if you want!!"

When she put the receiver down.....I ran to all the 12 standards...not hiding my ecstasy I announced the good news. The response was surprisingly sullen.I'm guessing it was the UT results aftermath.

I just have one request from all of you, except those in some team leaving for Vadodara(we'll miss you!), PEOPLE THIS IS OUR LAST EVER SCHOOL PICNIC.............and I've put my sweat and blood into getting it done (I'm still trying to get permission for Casual CLothes instead of Uniform!)......inspite of your Ut marks.....DO DO TRY AND MAKE IT.Letz make this one hell of an enjoyable day.....I dont expect a "Thanks" in return for what I've done, cause it was my duty, but my only request if for everyone to come....We wont get another chance to enjoy until after Boards.Think about it!

Trust is a weakness...

First of all, sorry about the pictures, there's just too many and it's extremely difficult to put them all online. The best I can do is, burn them on a CD if you are ready to give them to me.

Anyway, the theme for today's post was the Class XII UT Results, especially Informatics Practices.
After the Paper Leak Incident, our teacher Vidya Ma'am was extremely furious and the way she examined our papers completely showed her anger.
I can understand how she felt and I don't blame her either, because it wasn't her fault anyway. She has the entire right to be angry with us now...
So many papers were given full marks for "trash" answers and 0 for the correct one's. And it seemed as if she gave ZERO's in style. Each ZERO in every student's paper ( yes...every student has at least 2 ZERO'S ) has a prominent DASH (-) surrounding it. No one knows why...

We know the students were guilty...even most of the good students...and here's how the others got away with it:
When Vidya Ma'am asked the students who were directly or indirectly involved with the "paper leak" to stand, very few students stood, some which comprised the gang of people who were involved (and were honest enough) and the others who thought that whatever information they got about the paper was a condition for them to be guilty.

Now, out of the students sitting, some were the one's whom weren't involved at all. And again, some who didn't dare to stand for they feared that their reputation and trust would be shattered. I don't wish to name those students, but at least those who honestly admitted their faults felt that Honesty simply did not pay.

All those whom had owned up to it, had got marks in the range ( 20 - 30 ) marks with very few exceptions. And those who didn't own up, and were majorly involved ended up with a lot better marks than the others.
As a result, all those who honestly owned up felt that there was no point in Honesty. It would have been better off by just sitting down and getting away with it.Ma'am wouldn't know that we're involved she would still trust us.

But the better half of the students somehow felt that it was wrong to admit our mistake. We started questioning ourselves whether what we did was right or wrong. Why did the others get away with it so finely? Whatever happened to honesty? Is what they are doing the right thing?

And the best part was that Vidya Ma'am believed firmly that those who didn't stand up were not involved at all...That's your BIGGEST Mistake Ma'am. This Gang is where you'll find the real players...and the ones whom when revealed will astonish you to great heights.

Contrary to Vidya Ma'am's thinking, those who didn't own up were the ones who actually destroyed Ma'am's faith in them, and not those who honestly admitted their faults. We stood because we knew that it would be unfair to play games with Ma'am's faith in us, and so we did what we felt was right...
Sadly...none of us were happy with the decision we took.
We suddenly see light in the wrong direction.
And now we face a major question staring right at us in the face...
IS HONESTY REALLY THE BEST POLICY, TODAY?
And after all this, we still don't blame Vidya Ma'am for there was no real way she could find out whom actually to blame.

And Vidya Ma'am says we've changed....Yes we have...
Now we wonder whether to choose the "once encouraged" honest path...or choose the safer option...LIE!!!
I hope God has the answers to all our queries...

I am elated...flying on Cloud 10 if it existed! Why? Cause the utterly chaotic TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATIONS were a huge success....

5th of Spetmember started for me with getting up early, reaching school and then running around for an hour giving orders, getting htings done, doing things, arranging for seating, eating, sound systems and everything possible!Amidst all the confusion were Class 12th girls and boys looking strikingly different (well...the boys not that much...) in Sarees and Suits, Ties, Coats ....all READY TO BECOME TEACHERS for the day.

Since it hadn't rained since morning, I asked everyone to start arranging for the programme in the BASKETBALL COURT.Don't ask me why, but somewhere deep inside my heart I knew that it was going to be a SUNNY day.Maybe because I'd prayed truly and my true prayers are always answered.....But Princi wasn't happy with my assurance based on my divine interpretation. She asked me to shift base to the GreenShed.I couldnt disagree.

Within minutes, Food, Sound system, chaiirs, participants were all rushed across the length of the school to the Green Shed.Phew! It turned out that the MONGINIS delivery van had actually come upto Sumitra Gate and then turned back because there was no one to escort them to school.....But in the end all went well, and we were left with excess food!

Then there was the problem of TIME-LIMIT.The Green Shed was also to play venue to another PTA-Meeting for Teachers in an HOUR!!!! Somehow within that time we squeezed in as many times as possible. There were disappointed and tearful juniors in abundance....and I felt bad, but I couldn't help it...THIS IS NCS.

Eventually we handed over our GIFTS to all the teachers and working staff : Keychains with all their FIRST NAMES inscribed, and trust me....IT WAS A HITTTT! Some teachers were so touched by our gesture and efforts that they couldn'yt put it in words....All this was Chitvan Bedi's (Class XI) idea....and I felt that he needed to be given his due credit....so I introduced him amidst thundering applause.

I wrapped up the programme with a totally instantaneously-prepared VOTE OF THANKS which ended with....."and lastly thank you all....JUST FOR BEING .....Our Teachers".

And then we had awesome fun clicking photos in class, in central quadrangle, in Princi's office- EVERYONE and EVERYWHERE possible.I guess Sanchit will post them on the blog.

Only disturbance was somebody having stolen Radha ma'am's purse.....and then surreptitiously keeping it back in her room....But obviously, Money was gone.It wasn't a large amount.....but COme on....On Teacher's Day who has the low-mentality and pathetic-ideology of stealing from a Teacher???????Disappointing....

And before I left school grounds, I went to all the Staff Rooms to thank all our teachers for coming and being there for us.And I was so happy when Teachers told me that this was the Best Teachers Day they'd seen in all these years, that we'd touched all their hearts, that they loved it and yes, That "God Bless You/All of You".And I left home feeling, next year we'll all be somewhere else....who gets this chance again and again.....and that I think I'd managed a decent job and all "our" mehnat was well worth it....a Teacher's Smile eased all my fatigue and tension.

Principal's tubelight-powered brain suggested that since the children couldn't see it...We should have the programme again, with only particpants performing.I couldn't restrain from saying "Ma'am, that we'll see later.Let us just have a break now.And ...I told you it wouldn' rain." She asked "How did you know....?"

I didn't get a chance to answer....but I smiled to myself. I knew why it didn't rain.I knew how I was so sure it wouldn't rain. You wanna know....well because everything in this world's machinery works on the oiling of hope....I never gave up hope yesterday that it would stop raining.I never gave up my faith in the Ultimate clock-maker who winds all our lives.....He knew the amount of pains we'd all taken and that we were doing with the utmost sincerity and purity of heart for our Teachers.

Life Doesn't Give You the OPpprtunity of doing something good very frequently....grab it when you can...and He'll make sure you reach your end.Trust me.

Teachers Day...."Behind the Scenes"

Hi Everyone,
Don't consider this post as the "Teachers Day Special" post which was planned. That one comes from our Head-boy since he was in the centre of all the action. I'll add to that post too. Neither is this the one where all the pictures are included. Those ones come later.

What this post brings to you, is what happened during Teachers Day. A lot of preparations were made, but due to time constraints some of them had to be curtailed ( No Quiz, Performances Stopped mid-way ) and for the students who set things up, today was a mess.
However, the Teachers loved what they saw ( imagine if things went the way we wanted ).

And as everyone knows, Pictures convey a lot more than simply words...and I'll let the pictures do the talking now...Here's a few takes during the whole programme:

  • Our Principal...Getting things started

  • The Teachers seated...

  • One of the Performances...The Dance on MJ's song..."Ghost"

  • You must be wondering why the pictures have been taken in such a wierd angle. Here's why the camera kept moving...here's the chaos at the Green Shed Entrance.

  • You think that's it? Well...here's the Line of performers outside the greenshed entrance.

  • A lot of students complained that they came just to see the show but they weren't able to watch. Hmm...if class 12 students got bored like this...you can imagine how the others were...

That's all for now...A lot more posts to follow. Keep Bloggin'!!!

*Sanchit*

Post Teacher's day

Well Ashwith,Vimal & I(AVA) really slogged our butts out for our performance, but the final one was at best , dissapointing .

Many errors/problems led to this dissapointment .
First off all,as usual the NCS sound system really let us down. The amplifier sound level was more than what we wanted it to be , hence my Leads were a trifle bit to loud. Then came the Devil disguised as Ankita Chaterjee, who as usual had to come & do something to ruin everyhting. Well apparently she came to adjust the mic since the teachers couldn't hear us , that was fine , but even after the proper adjustment was carried out , she kept on fiddling with which really pissed us off and completely ruined our concentration hence our co-ordination went hay-wire. persnally I was in half a mind to sue her for NUISANCE.
Somehow people still liked it !?!

Well the rest was fine people clicking photographs of each other after the programme was over .
The pictures will be posted by Sanchit so watch the blog for further updates!

Teacher's Day celebrations

By the virtue of not being on the Council , the only way I could do anything for 'em was by ,well, being on the show. So Ashwith, Vimal(XI-B)& I decided to play ,"Living next door to alice" , yes the original version of the more popular,"who the **** is Alice"! Well we got in thanks to some casual auditioning & purely because of the fact that there was no one else , if not a few mor , from the 10+ classes.

But anyways we hope that we do well & who nows they may even ask for an encore!

A New Beggining

Well though I will be on probation till I satisfy my "superiors", & I will still be posting articles as frequently as possible. I hope to give the blog a new dimension .
Since I am as of now the only Non-(student)Council member of this blog , i'll probably will be givin' a Average Joe look to the blog.
Well I hope I can stay here & complete my probation !!

1485...and still counting...

Hey guys,
I've got a much neater and slicker counter ready.
It gives much more details than the previous one.

Teacher's Day...All that goes in the Making...

Finally the unit Tests are over and the Prefectorial Council can hope to get some work done. Too bad class XI still has a day more to go, but the rest are out of the UT pressure.
The drastic changes the school made for the inspection, didn't even spare the plans for the Teachers Day celebrations.
Hours of commitment by a few Prefectorial Members (even after-school) went through the assembling of all plans. Now after a last-minute decision by the director, the programme is going to be a total mess. We're all hoping for a good programme because we've all put our heart and soul into it.
The Timings now need to be shortened for various reasons and I'm saving such details for the Follow-up post after the Teachers Day.
The Senior Prefectorial Board (esp. the Head Boy) were one step short of having a mental breakdown. The basic thing is that we've been overloaded with lectures on what to do and what not to do, but what we haven't got is time to implement such ideas.

Anyway, I gotta go down for some outdoor activities...it's been a long time since I had any...we'll be back ASAP.

Enjoy!!!

Alive...but Still not Kickin'

Hey everyone,
I've just realised that the School Blog is known only to a few people, majority of those from Class 12.
We hope to set a larger scope of viewers and it would be great if you all could tell your friends about the Blog as well.

Besides, more contributors are welcome. Just let us know and be on the Blog Team.

LOTZ COMING......

Well, I'm taking time to let the consequences of being HEAD BOY seep in.And I think I'm getting there.....THERE IS SO MUCH STUFF that happens in school, without most of us knwing about it!!

But what with my new position, I'm really quite centrally placed in the circuits of school adminstration.....and THERE IS SO MUCH to be put on the blog......!!!

So guyz, make sure you check back after the 5TH OF SEPTEMBER to find loads of behind-the-scenes INFO on goings-on in the school........

I suggest you FIRST scroll down and read Sanchit's post on the impending 'School Inspection' and then read mine to get a better idea.Like him, I too have time constraints; I'll be as succinct as possible.

Apart from all the points covered by Sanchit, I'd like to point out this clever and I daresay, very sly move on our Principal's behalf.Suddenly, out of the blue, on Tuesday she announces that all students to KEEP THEIR BAGS next to them during UTs {instead of piling them on the platforms or in the outside corridor}.And then obviously follows the long lecture on
"I trust you children....you should trust yourselves....honesty....faith......self-control.....endless-blah-blah".

Well, I dont know how many of you were able to put 2-n-2 together, but since I've started learning the ways of this school's authorities, I wasn't shocked to realize :PRINCI WANTED TO SHOW OFF IN FRONT OF THE INSPECTORS.I'm quite sure the first thing she will tell the visitors is "Ohhhhhh......We always conduct all our exams like this only. You see, I have immense trust in my children.I'm even planning on not having invigilators during the tests. We should trust them........".YEah right!

Then another change which many of you may not even be aware of, but is yet another trick up our School administration's sleeve. What used to be once the COORDINATOR's room {opposite Principal's office/Where Viji Ma'am used to sit} has been totalllllllllllllllly emptied and all the coordiantors have been shifted to the Physics Lab.Why? Well. The new counselor has been shifted there. And I'm again 100% sure that the moment the visitors enter, the first room Principal will lead them to is the COUNSELOR'S room, saying "Ohhhh.......this is our Counsellor's room.We provide all mental support to our children. They are free to come and talk to the Counselor whenever they want.We lawyas beleive in helping our children with any problem they want to share........."Yeah rightttt!

Apart from Students being made to clear School grounds {Principal actually asked a group of girls to step into the gutter and remove all dry-dirt!!!}, School Gate being renovated, Corridors and Classrooms being "Chamkao-ed", Basketball field's being painted......endless FALSE charades .......the height of HYPOCRISY and DISHONESTY....in a school which boasts about "modesty, justice, eqaulity, fearlessness".Yeah rightttt!!

Lastly our Director.Trust me, he is a nice man.But unfortunately, he is in NCS.So it follows naturally that he becomes one with them.......He called me aside after school and gave me a long lecture saying that the Prefecotrial Board was not doing anything (Hellllooooooooo......UTZ aren't abolished for the Council...Hame bhi padhna hota hai!!) and that all the fault lies with Class 12 BOYS.Ridiculous you will say- I agree. He went on to tell me that I should go to each class and give them Moral lectures, like the one he gave in 12th B!!! Finally, he asked me what we did whole day and didn't bother to check the students....I replied simply "We, too have classes, Sir".He broke into a laugh, pat me on my back and said, "Aprt from that Tejas...Whenever you are free, Council members should get out and check the discipline of the school".Well, if he expects 50 badge-holders to be running amock during their free periods, breathing down kids' necks even during break and becomng monsters......I'm sorry, NOT ME.
