Std. XII Farewell

As most of you probably know already, yesterday was the day of the Farewell programme put up by us, the XIth Std. students, for our beloved (hem hem) XIIthees. The preparations, which were hasty and somewhat blotchy, began on Saturday, 'cause we were informed only on Friday (after the break :P) that the programme had been rescheduled to Tuesday, and was not on the 17th of Feb as planned... Imagine the shock and the worry that went through our brains when this was announced, we hadn't even begun our *preparations*.
All this while, the XIIthees were having their second round of Pre-Boards, their Economics/Biology/I.P exam having been yesterday.
On Saturday, the people who wanted to participate or just watch the fun turned up at about 8:30 AM, but couldn't enter the school because of a watchman who didn't allow us entry. :P
Some time later, Vidya Ma'am turned up and we began practicing, in the hope that we could somehow get something done to show all you XIIthees out there...
Monday went off surprisingly well, almost every item was displayed to our teachers (the XIIth and XIth teachers) for their approval.

Tuesday was like a mad dash for the finish line, we had to decorate the Motivation Hall as well, sadly, this could not be done in such a short span of time. However, there was just enough time for every participant to practice their respective items a few times.

By 4:30 PM, practically all the XIIthees who planned to turn up had arrived and had taken their seats. Then it was just a wait for the Principal and the Chief Guest (I don't know the name, sorry :P), after a long while, it was announced that the latter wasn't going to be present, so the program finally began.

Here is a list of all the (intended) items and participants (that I remember), I'm sorry if I forget any item or participant lol. Oh, and I'm sorry if I get the spelling of your names wrong...

MCs - Girish & Roshni
Sanskrit Shloks - Not sure who did these...
Jiya Jale - A dance (Indian Classical + Bhangra) by Jasleen, Yamini, Pooja and Sanchita, plus Satish and Dipthi
I'll Be There For You - The Friends theme song, performed by me (guitar+vocals) and Tina (vocals). Did we screw up??
Pageant-I - Many (34, I think) XIIthees were called up to the stage to give us their parting thoughts and final wishes.
Tongue Twisters - Some names were called out (because the XIIthees didn't come out when their numbers were called) and the respective people were made to repeat a tongue-twister 5 times. A few guys like Adhiraj Lanba and Sourabh (aka Juhi) made short work of the ones given to them. Hosted by Anurup and Soumya.
Lajwanti - A short Hindi skit, revolving around the search for a groom for a *girl* named Lajwanti, that has a twisted and weird (almost scary) end...
Hotel California - Performed by Nishit, Krish, me and Anindya (aka Andy). We messed up the vocals, but I think the guitar was okay. :P
Pageant-II - 34 more students were called up to speak.
NCS Idol - A hilarious short skit where a few XIIthees were called up and judged by the *judges*, a panel of 4 people, like Nana Patekar (Akash), Navjot Singh Siddhu (Chirag), Sonu Nigam (Krish) and Sajid Khan (Abhimanyu). It was hosted by Mini Mathur (Anurup in a skirt) and Soumya Garg.
Pageant-III - 34 more students...
Paper Dance - About eight or ten people were called up and made to dance in couples on a piece of newspaper each. Every time the music stopped, they had to fold it in half and continue dancing...LOL
Pageant Final - 10 people (5M + 5F) who were selected from the previous rounds were called and given a random question each. They were also judged on the basis of this question and how they answered it.
Dance by XIths - Also dubbed the NOFRA Dance LMAO. A dance by Niharika, Akshara, Ankita, Jasleen and Divya. Followed by a dance to this song from Ek Ajnabee, with Shantanu, Arpan, Kedar, Achint and Soumya Agarwal.
Dance by XI Boys - Dus Bahane and Garam Masala, and a Bhangra number by Satish, Dipthi, Binay, Kuldeep and Arun.
Results - The winners of the Pageant were announced. The title of Mr. NCS was given to a surprised but deserving Aditya Maru and Miss MCS to Rakhee Kundu, congratulations to both of you guys!
Gifts & Titles - Each XIIthee was given a candle, and pen engraved with their name and a card with their name and special title...
Candle Lighting - The candles were lit and handed over to the XIthees as part of a ceremony. Accompanied by an obscured Paint My Love by me and Tina. :P
Jam Session - Lasted only 10 minutes because the hall was booked only till 8 PM... :(

However, we took the programme outside and played a few more songs... :D

On behalf of the XIthees, I'd like to wish all you XIIthees the very best of luck with all your endeavours, however shady they may be lol. And we hope you enjoyed our programme, and that we didn't bore you too much ;)

Hopefully we can hear something more about the programme from the XIIthees' perspective when Sanchit writes about this. :)

Even if you're innocent, you'll RAM into princi everytime

Ok...First things first...Lets see what happened.
During our Chemistry Pre-board Examination at 9:05 am Anju Agarwal Ma'am (Apologies in case I misspelt the surname) entered our class and asked all class XII - B students to be present in the Physics Lab.
We all wondered, why would anybody want to see all of us during an examination?
That's when Ma'am informed us that the Principal wanted to talk to us. She also promised Extra-time. Remember this line.
What could it be?We wondered.
The only thing that could have possibly happened was if the Principal read our Teacher Assessment Forms and noticed something fishy about ONE teacher.

But to our surprise, it was something totally different.
Since typing out her lecture would put all you guys to sleep, I thought of formatting her lecture in a conversation format. So here goes.

Princi : A RAM Card had been stolen from the I.P Lab. We know it's one of you or I'm sure that some of you know who did it?
We thought: Huh? What RAM Card? How did she know that we stole it?

Princi : Don't challenge me.There is a clause in the CBSE rules which says that I can withhold all your Admit Cards and prevent you all from appearing for the boards. Do you want me to do that?
Some of us thought: I hate to admit it, but damn...she's right.
Some Others thought : Oh Yeah?Do it then...if you have the guts.

Princi : It's not just about the money. I will ask all of you to give 10 to 20 Rs. each. But you are the seniormost class of the school. I thought you all were role models...*humph* Most of you are from the Defence Fraternity. If this is how you treat your school (also reminds us about the Bomb in the Toilet on our last day) what will you do for our country?
We thought: Look Ma'am...You're right...But is this the time to discuss all this? We have an exam going on.

Princi : (unfolds a paper revealing a RAM Card) I found this in class XII-B. Tell me who did it or I will make you face the consequences.
We thought: Great...now she tells us that she had it all this time. Then where's the problem if she found it? Besides, if she did find it in XII - B it had to be in someone's desk. Shouldn't she then already know who had taken it?

Princi : (Looks at us with disgust) I want to know who did this before you leave. Go.
We thought: Ram Ram...it's over.(pun intended) Lets write our Chem exam now.

A little later Anju Ma'am reenters our class. She tells us that no extra time will be given to us.

Now comes the reason why noone was angry with Principal after all this.
I leave this for you to ponder over.
Let's just say that Ma'am called for us after the Question Papers were given.
And yes...Man is a Social Animal...heh heh.

P.S : We seriously had no idea who stole the RAM Card. Punishing all of us would also mean punishing the innocent students. Is it practical to play with our lives esp. since the RAM card was found?

All The Best!

I would like to wish our Xth and XIIth std. students the very best for their Pre-Board exams (that commenced today). I'm sorry I couldn't write this a bit earlier, but I wasn't out here (I went for the Sahyadri camp). Also, a Happy New Year to those I haven't wished yet.
I'll probably be getting the Sahyadri camp pics from our instructor in the near future, I can post them up for interested people out here if you want.
