All work and no play??

Tis' the 'last working' day for 2005! I dunno bout u guys but i've been waiting for tom for a while. Finally...We're free....Or so I thought until I saw the enormous, never-ending list of holiday homework! Come'on! wats the point of having vacation if u dont have free time? We have holiday hw and Unit Tests! it defeats the purpose of having time off!! And the sad thing is that this reapeats year after year and break after break. I feel that this is an issue to be put up to the skool administration.
What is the use of giving us a break when all we do is study....after every break....be it diwali or x mas (wait….we don’t get a diwali break!) ...we have some or the other exams and i know i speak for everyone when i say that it ruins the fun. Even if you are goin out of mumbai u still have the tension of the pending work!
There are people who say that its a good thing that we get time off before the exams to study and to an extent it is good but not everytime!
Anyways...i just wanted to put this issue out in the open and see wat response i get because i honestly feel strongly bout it. so plz let me know ur guyz' opinon....

And finally as i said earlier.... tom is the last day of skool and its PaRtY TiME! yup...tom's the X mas party! so i hope u all have fun and we'll be sure to give u all the uptake on wat happened! Have a Gr8 last day of the year!

A Chem Class for Class XII

Hey everyone,
These videos go back to the day when the Dep. Head Boy Last Year (Anuj) left school in the beginning of this Academic Year.
He'd got a Video Camera and we took loads of pictures and videos but this one stood out from the rest.
Ever wondered how a Chemistry Class is in Class 12?
Nope...Well...then here's the Video.

It's around 6 MB so hope you have the patience.
And please don't clog my Server.

Alumni Association...Any Possibility?

I just attended my ex-school's Alumni Meet yesterday and I had an awesome time.
I just thought of it. Why Can't our own School have it's own Alumni Association?
Newsletters can be mailed to members every month and an Dinner is hosted at school every year.
I hope the Principal considers it ( once I bring it up to her ).

But there will obviously be major problems. As in...who will manage the working of the Alumni Association? My Ex-school was founded in 1864 so there are loads of ex-students who are willing to contribute to the Alumni Association ( in both ways...work and money )

I was thinking if this could be a reality for NCS.
But I doubt that'll happen for this batch at least.

P.S : In Case You're Interested CLICK HERE to visit St.Mary's Alumni Association. You'll have a pretty good idea how important they treat the Alumni Association and how important an Alumni Association is to a School and its Ex-Students.

What's going on???!

What is happening around here? Some people have a problem with the way of writing and the content of Chitvan's entry, and some people want to reveal the "true" identity of the mysterious bomb-exploder...What in heaven's name is going on? Where has the old stuff gone, people? People seem to be criticising and scheming more than making actual comments.
I would like to request everyone to forget every stupid comment and every stupid topic that's been discussed in here. It would be much more sensible and decent to go back to where we were before.
Ahem, now that that's said and done, on to better (and more interesting?) things. Yesterday, the XIIthees wrote their mock exam for Math, many said they hadn't studied very well lol. Today the Xth Std. students had their Pre-Board practical exams, thus preventing any of the XIthees from continuing their own pracs...anyways, we can't blame you guys, it's your Pre-boards and all that... A few XIIthees were also seen in school.
Principal Ma'am had an announcement to make regarding our last day of school this year. Apparently, we will be "allowed" to have a class Christmas party on the 22nd of this month, on the condition that we "take away all the stuff and clean up. I don't want to see all the food lying there and all." Those were Principal Ma'am's exact words (well, most of them were hers) on the subject. The school choir (choir????) sang ("sang") the prayer song "Kyun Na Hum Sab" today, (that's the ridiculously long prayer that's not actually a prayer)...well, what can I say? Just a normal day in our amazing school (please don't miss the sarcasm somewhere in this entry).
Oh, one more thing, about the school forum, I'm in two minds right now, many people I've talked to are and aren't interested...Please speak your mind in the comments section, tell us if we should indeed start a school forum (it could include an Alumni Association). "To be, or not to be, that is the question...".

12thees Last Day in School

Well..I know the topic isn't apt but its the best I could think of at this time ( but hey...I'm a creative dude ok? It's just that when you post when your parents arent looking, you obviously cant be creative...lol )

Vimal already covered the last day of Class XII and X.
Well, I'm going to share a few things to everyone which only Class XII got to see/hear.

First of All, I'd like to break the news ( im sure everyone knew about it anyway ) that Vidya Ma'am is leaving school next year. Whether thats Good or Bad News is upto you guys. It's good news for us because at least we had her for our period in School. Thank You Ma'am for bearing with us...seriously.We had fun troubling you as well as being punished from you. We've learned a lot from you and we Thank You for all that you've done for us ( and for everything that you will be doing for us...Practicals are coming right? ;-) )

Anyway, Radha Ma'am sang for us once again [ :-) ] and here are the two songs.
SONG 1 [RADHA MA'AM'S LATEST :) ]

Well, we couldn't help but sing with her as well...Here's Song (or rather...chaos) 2.
SONG 2

Ma'am was most vulnerable to cameras while she's singing so I couldn't resist. That's Ma'am singing.

I know what you're thinking...Yup...we captured her teaching as well. Here's what I've got(so far):

And here's our New Teacher Dinesh Sir.

Ok...I've hidden something here...It's upto you guys to find out what it is. Post Comments as Your Answer.
I've hidden in this post (somehow) something related to our Maths Teacher.
What is it?

The Answer will be revealed LATER.

Till then...
Keep Blogging.
And Congrats to All Viewers to help us Reach 1500 Hits.

We miss School Already!!! *sob*
Later then.
ciao.

1500 Visits and counting...

It is with pleasure (and a heck of a lot of pride lol) that I announce (the very obvious fact) that the school's unofficial blog now has over 1500 visits to its credit. The exact number as I write this is "1558", I'm sorry I didn't do this earlier. This was Nimit's idea, he told me to post this entry, thanks, man ;).

Today, quite a few 12th-ees were seen roaming around school, including our co-blogger, Sanchit (hey, man, I was having Math at the time). Some were in the computer lab, updating or making last-minute modifications to their I.P projects. Some seemed to be doing a group-study in the central quadrangle (stupid name, isn't it?), while some seemed to be doing nothing at all. Oh, and some were playing around with a football...Anyways, moving on...

We had Mass-PT first thing today morning after prayer. Both Rashmi Ma'am and Rathi Sir (I don't know if I've spelled that name right) seemed to be in a good mood today, even going as far as to say "Good" and "Excellent" (and "Excellent, Trata house!" hehe) after each exercise was done. We were forced (and I mean forced) to do all the exercises simultaneously about three or four times. Remember the stupid clapping exercise? No, wait, how could anyone forget? LOL It's something even the 12th-ees won't (ahem, can't) forget...anyways, it's something for you to take from the school as remembrance...

That's all for now, so long everybody...

LAST GOODBYES

Farewell's tend to drag, don't they? I dislike drawling "bye-byes"....SO I keep mine short:

Terrific 12 years in School...Splendid Months Blogging for All u Guys....Awesome time being Head Boy with a great team.....All the Best of Luck to successing Bloggers.....

Keep SMILING !

Tejas (Teju) :D

A New Beginning…..

Yes....indeed it is a new beginning for all of us....for the 12ths, who are free from the chains of Schooling (ok fine in a couple of months) and for the blog and its contributors. As it will be difficult for Tejas and Sanchit to keep updating the blog….the job of keeping it alive have been given to us (Vimal, Chitvan and me). In case you all don’t know me…..I am Nimit Desai of IX A and I will be helping in updating the blog. We will try to be as regular with the posts as possible. Please keep blogging and ur comments, suggestions and criticism is always welcome!

I would also like to thank Sanchit for giving me this opportunity (very sry bout the delay) and would like to wish all the 12thees the BEST OF LUCK!!!!

All is well that ends well...

Well...I wanted my own view on our last day in School but due to time constraints I wont be able to do so. But luckily Vimal has had his own opinion posted here already which I think can make up for my post.

Yup starting from Today we have Vimal and Chitvan, both students of class XI - B as contributors to the Blog. Both are great writers and have a sense of sarcasm as well.
I will be posting too but the frequency of posts will be lesser now compared to my previous post-counts per week.
But that doesn't mean you guys reduce the frequency of visits...Keep Blogging.

Since class XII wont be there in School, These guys will do all the reporting to keep us updated about school stuff.
I wish them all the Best.

Have Fun Blogging!!!
-Sanchit

More than just the last official day...

Today was the last official day for our XIIths and Xths, but it was also so much more - some students (unfortunately, we aren't sure if it was an individual or a gang) decided to send off the departing students with a bang...literally! During the 4th period, about half-way through, a really loud "bang" (more like a "BOOM", actually lol) was heard by most classes (surprisingly, none of the 12th Std. students heard this, we're not sure if they're keeping something from us, but anyways). I (my class) was having an English period, being taken by Mrs. Seema Ramesh(aka Seema Ma'am), when we heard the "disturbance" (an understatement). A few students decided to take a look, but were told to return to their places by Ma'am. However, when the bell rang (signalling the solitary break), almost everyone had to find out the source of the noise. At about the same time, the 12ths were having their class photos taken, and all the senior teachers were in front of the lobby (in front of the building) when the explosion occured. I don't mean to sound like there was a terrorist attack or anything, but it was a pretty loud noise.
As it turned out, someone had set off a firecracker (later, this was shown to be a "rassi" bomb) in the Boys' Toilet on the first floor, and run away, thus creating a major disturbance. The Prefectorial Board were summoned almost immediately, and began a "bag-check" (kindly note the sarcasm) of all the classes from 9 to 12 (actually, whether the bags in Class XII were checked or not is unknown to us). I personally feel the bag-checks aren't very effective, and a point to be noted is that the Prefects don't actually check your person, only your bag... This is probably why no one was apprehended.
A list of suspects was made (no physical list, but the possible miscreants were considered), and they were called one-by-one to the Chem Lab, where Radha Ma'am and the Prefectorial Board grilled them (of course, I'm only kidding about the grilling). A group of VIIth Std. students who claim to have been "witnesses" to this very *grave* crime were also in the lab. These "witnesses", who were probably just random students who came for the heck of it, were asked to identify the people they had seen near the toilet, shortly before and after the incident. The list of suspects also includes yours truly. Of course, I was immediately cleared of all charges (even had an emergency witness, just in case, Seema Ma'am). Among the other interrogated students were Krish Chopra, Ankit and Aashish from XI B. Why these poor students were put through that is beyond me, because IMO, there is no way these particular students could have committed such an offence (requiring so much skill and confidence lol). In the end, to the best of our knowledge, no one was actually proved to be the culprit. Moving on...
As expected, the 12th-ees spent the whole day (well, most of it) signing each others' shirts and filling up slam books, taking numerous photos of their favourite hang-outs, etc. etc. You guys will be missed, please keep in touch, and post comments here for us to read. And when the forum is finished, do join up and correspond.
Sorry for branching out so much today, but there was just so much to write that I couldn't stop. But that's literary license, isn't it?

The Reigns have been passed!!!

Last Day (Tomorrow) For Classes X and XII

Tomorrow will be the last (*official*) school day for the students of Std.X (and more importantly) Std.XII. Most of the guys (and girls) will be bringing their cameras and cell phones to school (some of them already are lol) to take back with them *fond memories* of their times in our school (Our Pride, right??). Moving on to the events of today (as I saw them)...
Almost all the periods today (make no mistake, this is for Class XI, and not XII) involved a couple of 12th-ees entering the class to speak to the teacher. None of the XII classes seem to have any classes these days, all they seem to be doing is practicals, practicals and practicals lol. Well, yeah, I know you guys have your Pre-Boards and practical exams coming up and the boards ever closer... Hopefully everything'll go fine for you guys.
Lastly, I would like to thank Sanchit and Tejas for allowing me to post my thoughts about our school and everything about it. It's been a while since I've blogged, and I know I probably suck at this, but what the heck? Oh, BTW, Chitvan and Nimit will probably be posting entries here as well, if they accept. And I've been planning a new forum for our school (just as unofficial as this blog), so that departing students may keep in touch in a quicker way than e-mail...More on that soon, keep checking the blog for the URL, I will post it after it is complete. And in case you haven't guessed or don't know already, this is Vimal from Class XI... I would like to pen (type, rather) me thoughts on the departing 12ths before I conclude this entry. Having joined this school only this year, I can't say I knew all of them well, but I will certainly miss those that I knew (ahem...know). You guys will be missed (I can't say you'll miss school or anything), but that's besides the point!).

Last few days of School.

10 More Days till School officially closes for Class XII on December 10.
From then students will only be attending school for practicals or examinations.
A lot of people don't know how it feels like to leave school. Trust me, when you are in school, you take it for granted. But once you leave it, you'd wish your school days never ended. But then there's nothing you can do...it's just a part of life.
So make the most of these 10 Days everybody.
Here's what my friends and I did in my last few days of my ex-school St.Mary's ICSE.
  • Get Slambooks and get 'em filled by students and even teachers ( if you have guts, go ahead and try for the Principal )
  • Get Cameras and click every area in School.
  • Get Snaps and Videos of Teachers Teaching.
  • Get Markers and Pens and write graffiti on your friends' Shirts on the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL [ Mind you...this one is not appreciated by the staff...but it's great...as we can preserve those Shirts.. ]
  • Talk to the teachers and tell them all the mistakes and wrong things that you have done in school such as ragging, cheating, bitching about other teachers etc. It's fun.
  • Get Cell Phones to School [we used to carry them anyway] and call teachers while they are teaching...
  • Rag every Teacher in School Royally. [ Sorry Teachers...but this point is always on the "TO-DO LIST" of every student before leaving school... ]
  • Get as many remarks as possible in your almanac and preserve it.
  • Get Video Camera's and record one entire day in School.
  • Get a few Teachers to play Football with you. [We arranged for ourselves a Students v/s Teachers Match for us...and the Teachers team included our principal]
  • Graffiti and extreme chaos outside school. [I'm not defining chaos...because it almost lead to a few police complaints]
Well...obviously not all can be done in NCS due to lack of freedom for students. But so what? It's our last few days of school and lets try to make it memorable.

Post Comments on Your Idea on how we can spend the last few days of School.
I'll sure miss School...

ANNUAL DAY

I return with this 121th post of our blog.....lucky, considering Sanchit was on the brink of permanently expelling me.But there is a miniscule hinderance.I wish to write about our ANNUAL DAY , but there is so much that I know and saw that it would take two chapters of a fiction-novel.
I'd been practically living in MULLA AUDITORIUM for the past five, six days.I'm confused as to what to write and what not to....what might interest you and what you may want to ignore.Being centrally located in the rush of all that happened, I can go on and on about the Annual Day.But for this once, I think we'll settle for the not-so-obvious path.Yes, I think I'll keep it short.
Basically, the practice sessions went on forever and the final day went smoothly. My personal favourites were the 'GANGA BEHTI HO KYUN!" dance and the "VANDE MATARAM" dance. The filler-pantomimes were hilarious.Orchestra rocked.Palace of Candles was the only item to be mentioned by the C-in-C in his speech.Palanquin bearers was slightely drawling but looked good on stage.Invocation dance was serene.Environment play was well intended.Murli sir's beautiful backgrounds were breath-taking.All the teachers and students who know how much effort had gone into this one day's show.........KUDOS to each one of you.
And I cannot forget the Prefectorial Council.Yes, they did a few silly things at times.......but OVERALL I don't think the function would have operated without their support, frentic-running-around, escorting, shouting and following orderd. Thanks a ton people.
And now we move into darker waters.School closes officially on 10th Decemeber for Class XII.The end of our school days. And the dreaded feeling of leaving friends and school life is crawling into everyone.Time is slipping away and we wish we could hold back and relive those days........
Classes 9, 10, 11 (only one Solitary-Creeper) will be going for a 'PICNIC' to Filmcity tomorrow. What can i say? Enjoy it......Preboards-Practical dates are yet unfixed.Keep you posted on anything new!
Tejas :D

Class Plates

Well...a few days back a few people informed Radha Ma'am that the Director had seen some students from class XII swapping the class plates of the Computer Lab and the nearby Girls Toilet.
Well...everyone knows who the students are...(we'll let them get away this time...because of what follows).
Radha Ma'am informed us about the incident only to realise that it brought loads of laughs on the face of every student present.

Then she told us to stop doing such stupid things ( she's right BTW...so u 2...please stop.) because the teacher's aren't so stupid enough to realise the change. Well...is that so?
Last Year, a Student from Class XII-B [Name withheld to protect privacy ] switched the plates of Class XI-A and XI-B at the end of the year. And nobody noticed it. Yes, that means that the current XI-A was actually XI-B last year and XI-B was XI-A before.
What happened to the teachers then? Looks like the change went unnoticed. Maybe they thought that the change was intended. But then even the Principal didn't notice the difference.
Sort of Ironic isn't it?
