Annual Day...[ Thank God It's Over ]

'Thank God Its Over!' was heard from almost everyone who was involved with the Annual Day. After all the long hours put for this event, it all seemed to have paid off.
Obviously there were a few mistakes per programme but probably I could figure them easily as I knew the scripts for each programme. For the viewers ( I think ) it all went perfect.

As always I have covered the areas which are never captured by cameras. Everyone always takes snaps of the main function, but who knows what happens behind the scenes during the Annual Day?
I'll try to answer that now.
Well, I was hardly in the auditorium during the function. Most of the time I was either Backstage, in the Balcony or in the Control Room.
I recorded a few videos and clicked a few pictures on a Handycam before it's battery drained out and I hope they've come out fine. Once I get my hands on them, I'll get them online.
This was the sequence of items during the Annual Day which was handed out to the VIPs (and probably the parents...I have no idea...please correct me ASAP).

Le impressive no?

Well the Auditorium was packed literally so obviously there was a little space problem for parking cars. Cycles were moved out and cars replaced them. They were neatly parked like this:

While everyone else was Enjoying the programme, they wondered how the auditorium could accomodate all the participants as well as themselves? Well, it couldn't. A separate enclosure was made for the Participants ( I call it ChaosGate ) and you'll soon realise why I chose to call this enclosure 'ChaosGate'. Have a Look.

Oops I forgot something...I almost forgot this one...This one looked too tempting to miss. It's a regular custom in any major function and by looking at this picture you'll see what I mean.

Speaking of Chaos outside Mulla, the participants had to get in sometime or the other before performing. There were two entrances to the BackStage Are. Here's the First One.

Frankly, these participants created a lot of unnecessary noise and added a pain to the council members there but the other Gate was a lot better.
The Door was closed to ensure that no disturbances can ruin the show. I was impressed.

Now for all the BackStage Fun.

1) Preparing for Showtime

2) Some Performances from BackStage

3) Meenakshi Ma'am enjoying a programme BackStage

4) Girija Ma'am having her share of fun too...[ Try to find her first ;) ]

And Finally the Auditorium after the Annual Day was over...

I had to be in the control room for the videos ( which will be put up soon ) even though the door mentioned...

Well...I've covered the Programme with Fun-n-Pics and I leave it to Tejas to write his view on it as he was primarily involved being the Head Boy.

And as for the rest, I'll post the pictures/videos/Misc. etc. as soon as I get them.

Comments Welcome.

Annual Day...24 Hrs before.

One Day before the Annual Day ie. during our Grand Rehersal our Chairman had attended the Function. He arrived at Mulla Audi. a little late ( it's upto you to decide how little is little ) and the programme started.
Honestly speaking, we knew that he wasn't impressed at all but obviously he couldn't say that to all of us since the participants put in a lot of hard work and efforts.
I took agreed with him on a few issues such as the Punctuation Play...but it's all a matter of opinion...
Immediately after the programme got over the participants and the prefectorial board was asked to stay back and she gave her standard speech. It was a bit loud and scary (not to mention LONG ) and unfortunately an Idea struck me during the last half of her speech.
For those who missed it, here's the last Half of our Principal Ma'am's Speech.
TURN YOUR SPEAKERS TO FULL VOLUME TO HEAR IT PERFECTLY
DOWNLOAD FIRST CLIP
DOWNLOAD SECOND CLIP

For those who refer the Constitution on any given issue for Privacy Rights, I'd like to state that NO HARM HAS BEEN INTENDED TO ANYONE
We know that this is a difficult time for our Principal too...so please don't think of it as a way of insulting you.

But her frustration was most conspicous when she started naming the -ve areas of each programme in the end. It reached its heights when she asked many programmes to Change their costumes for the 'GRAND FUNCTION'.
What more Can I say everyone? Teachers as well as students were startled. Somebody please tell her that there's only 24hrs for the GRAND FUNCTION.

It's unfair to just point fingers at our staff. It's really sad that some students have broken the Auditorium Equipment not realising that the entire school will be paying up for the maintenance later.
Mikes and even bulbs have been stolen.
Hey...people...Why are you doing this? How are cordless mikes going to help you without the main jack? Why Steal Bulbs when you can buy your own?
I see no point why students are doing this.
A lot of chocolate wrappers were found inside the auditorium too. As a member of the prefectorial council, on everyone's behalf...I request you to stop desecreting the Auditorium and refrain from such activities.

Let us please Work Hard and help our Teachers and our Principal Make the Function truly a 'GRAND' event.

P.S : Actual Annual Day Post Later.
P.P.S : If you have pictures of the Annual Day Function please mail them to write2sanchit@gmail.com and I'll post them on the Blog with your name as well. Thank You.

Technical difficulties with the blog.

Someone commented on one of my earlier psots that I should be posting at least once every alternate day. I have some major technical problems, which would take more than a week to rectify. Till then, the posts will be few and far between. Sorry.

Children's Day Special(or was it???)

The birthday of India's first PM was celebrated on a rather subdued note today. The emphasis was more on the "langar" than Children's Day.
The day began not with encouraging words in the Assembly, but with "On Conduct in Company" in English class(not that I didn't like the class, the assembly could've come first). At 9 A.M., we were finally called out to the basketball court(s) where slots for each class were alloted. I had expected a program on the lines of last years events, however, there was no show, no special assembly, and the little speech given by one student on Guru Nanak Jayanti(or was it Children's Day?) was lost in the din of the commotion of the classes being seated and the prefects running helter-skelter looking after food arrangements. The unfortunate prefects had their turn in the end to a somewhat "lesser" meal, compared to what the other students got. The students, well, the Science students were treated to a power-packed extra class, while the Commerce students were lucky enough to cool their heels. The day got over at 11:30. At least we all got a Munch!!
Ok, I didn't expect a grandiose event. But at least a special "teacher's assembly", a few words on how important we children are, etc. etc. Is that much too much to ask for?
