Trust is a weakness...
First of all, sorry about the pictures, there's just too many and it's extremely difficult to put them all online. The best I can do is, burn them on a CD if you are ready to give them to me.
Anyway, the theme for today's post was the Class XII UT Results, especially Informatics Practices.
After the Paper Leak Incident, our teacher Vidya Ma'am was extremely furious and the way she examined our papers completely showed her anger.
I can understand how she felt and I don't blame her either, because it wasn't her fault anyway. She has the entire right to be angry with us now...
So many papers were given full marks for "trash" answers and 0 for the correct one's. And it seemed as if she gave ZERO's in style. Each ZERO in every student's paper ( yes...every student has at least 2 ZERO'S ) has a prominent DASH (-) surrounding it. No one knows why...
We know the students were guilty...even most of the good students...and here's how the others got away with it:
When Vidya Ma'am asked the students who were directly or indirectly involved with the "paper leak" to stand, very few students stood, some which comprised the gang of people who were involved (and were honest enough) and the others who thought that whatever information they got about the paper was a condition for them to be guilty.
Now, out of the students sitting, some were the one's whom weren't involved at all. And again, some who didn't dare to stand for they feared that their reputation and trust would be shattered. I don't wish to name those students, but at least those who honestly admitted their faults felt that Honesty simply did not pay.
All those whom had owned up to it, had got marks in the range ( 20 - 30 ) marks with very few exceptions. And those who didn't own up, and were majorly involved ended up with a lot better marks than the others.
As a result, all those who honestly owned up felt that there was no point in Honesty. It would have been better off by just sitting down and getting away with it.Ma'am wouldn't know that we're involved she would still trust us.
But the better half of the students somehow felt that it was wrong to admit our mistake. We started questioning ourselves whether what we did was right or wrong. Why did the others get away with it so finely? Whatever happened to honesty? Is what they are doing the right thing?
And the best part was that Vidya Ma'am believed firmly that those who didn't stand up were not involved at all...That's your BIGGEST Mistake Ma'am. This Gang is where you'll find the real players...and the ones whom when revealed will astonish you to great heights.
Contrary to Vidya Ma'am's thinking, those who didn't own up were the ones who actually destroyed Ma'am's faith in them, and not those who honestly admitted their faults. We stood because we knew that it would be unfair to play games with Ma'am's faith in us, and so we did what we felt was right...
Sadly...none of us were happy with the decision we took.

We suddenly see light in the wrong direction.
And now we face a major question staring right at us in the face...IS HONESTY REALLY THE BEST POLICY, TODAY?
And after all this, we still don't blame Vidya Ma'am for there was no real way she could find out whom actually to blame.
And Vidya Ma'am says we've changed....Yes we have...
And Vidya Ma'am says we've changed....Yes we have...
Now we wonder whether to choose the "once encouraged" honest path...or choose the safer option...LIE!!!
I hope God has the answers to all our queries...

i agree sanchit...i think itz really bad that the others didn't stand up..i think, if they had stood up, we wud have seen a much better OVERALL result...coz she wud have been sure who was involved and who wasn't.

SANCHIT WROTE:
"And Vidya Ma'am says we've changed....Yes we have...

Well, I'm not GOD to have answers to all your queries....but yes, I can answer a few of them.
The glaring question of whether honesty is still the path to be tread upon - I WILL ANSWER YES...today tumoro and a hundred times.I know you may feel itz all simple for me 2 say coz i've scored well and i hav no clue abt IP etc etc......but if in LIFE a small UNIT TEST can cause you to question your principles, I feel all of us need a reality check.Come on people, this is the TINIEST and MOST MINISCULE of challenges we have ever seen in our small lives.......THER R WORSE THINGS coming.Itz not a rosy-mushy world...it is a bad world out there ......and if every conscious decision we take forces us to think 10 times......ver r we going to end up?????? Life throws dicy situations, pathetic Utz, horrible teachers and Pathetic papaer-checking patterns at us.....and dis is just da beginning....tumro ther'll be 100 more challenges, more fights....DONT LET your ideals be wavered so easily.I haven't let mine...and I know that wot u guys did was ABSOLUTELY right....to hell with what others thin, wot marks u get or wot VIDYA ma'am does or thinks about u ppl.....as long as....YOU CAN LOOK IN THE MIRROR EVERY DAY AND FACE YOURSELF EYE-2-EYE, I think u will do gr8 in life.
Letz learn from this incident and make better use of it.....if she wants 2 get at u guyz for summing u ppl din do at all......u guyz get bak at HER in half yearlys by studying to ur level best and GIVING HER FLAWLESS papers and not providing her a chance to CUT MARKS OR DRAW DESIGNER-ZEROS AT ALL.
You have wot it takes ppl.....jus live life according to ur heart and ur rules....life is NOT A COMPUTER PROGRAMME....THER ARENT SYNTAX ERRORS ....ther r jsut ups and downs...and YOU JUST HAVE TO TRUST THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER SITTING ABOVE ALL OF US in times like dis...

teacher's not to b blamed 4 wut u ppl did. u shd have told her tht very instant abt the incident. i thnk tht wud have in turn increased her faith in u all manifold. scoring mrks at this lvl is not the only aim. aim shud b 2 face urself everyday with dignity n scoring wut u really deserve.
so wutever happnd, happnd. its better late than never. atleast u accepted.
leave this incidence behind n prepare better, honestly next time.
and yes still "HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY".
one such incidence shudn't let u lose ur faith in life n GOD.
u passed this exam of life, look ahead 4 other such tests.
All the best n don't lose hope, faith.

Well, I can tell you something which I've witnessed first-hand. A similar incident took place on 2/9 during the Accounts exam when cheating(and even a bit of leaking) took place at a level which I'm sure the IP 'stalwarts' wouldn't even have dreamt about. People actually got up and went to other people's places to tally answers!, and in the middle of this rampant copying, the noise generated would have been sufficient to wake up any Rip Van Winkle. Yet, what happens to the whole class(well, with an exception of a couple or so)? NOTHING till date. Well, we haven't got the results yet, and when we do, you'll hear more from me allright!!! Oh, by the way, I AM MOT THE SAME ANONYMOUS WHO'S BEEN CRIRCTISING YOU ALL THESE MONTHS. I'M A DIFFERENT PESRON, WHO'S FOUND THIS TOPIC VERY 'THOUGHT PROVOKING'.
